Strike Days 5th and 7th July

NEU Strike Action Wednesday 5th and Friday 7th July.

As you will be aware, teacher unions are still in dispute with the Government and the National Education Union have announced a further two days of strike action this academic year to take place on Wednesday, July 5th and Friday July 7th.  It is disappointing that the dispute has not been resolved and unfortunately this will lead to further disruption.  As you know from previous communications, we have a number of teachers who are a part of the NEU and who will strike on these days.

The 7th July is our planned transition day when Year 6 pupils joining us in September visit and this is an important part of the transition process that cannot be moved without disrupting other end of term activities.  Therefore, the transition day will go ahead on Friday 7th July.

On Wednesday 5th July, Year 8, Year 9, our LEAP cohort, students with an EHCP and vulnerable young people will attend school.  Year 7 students and students in Year 10 will work remotely via Google Classroom from home and work will be set by teachers if they are not striking.

On Friday 7th July, Year 7, our LEAP cohort, students with an EHCP and vulnerable young people will attend school along with the Year 6 pupils attending for their transition day.  Students in Year 8, 9 and 10 will work remotely via Google Classroom from home with work set by teachers who are not striking.

We anticipate that there may be further strike action in the Autumn term and our current Year 10 who will be in Year 11 then, will be prioritised to attend school during any further strikes.

For students attending school, they should arrive at the normal time (no delayed start).
