Meet Our New Cohort Of Purple Ties!

Friday 8th May marked a proud and exciting occasion for our Year 10 students as we gathered together for the first Purple Tie Presentation Assembly of the year.
During the assembly, 28 students were awarded their Purple Ties in recognition of their commitment, leadership, and positive contribution to school life. Becoming a Student Leader is a significant achievement and it was wonderful to see so many deserving students recognised in front of their peers and teachers.
The atmosphere throughout the assembly was incredibly positive, with students celebrating each other’s success and showing great enthusiasm as the new Student Leaders received their special purple ties. These students have consistently demonstrated maturity, responsibility, and a willingness to support others and I am confident they will represent the school excellently in their new roles.
This year, approximately 50% of the Year 10 cohort applied to become Purple Tie students, which is something we are extremely proud of as a year group. The number of applications reflected the ambition, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by our students. While not every applicant received a tie during this first presentation, every student who applied should feel proud of themselves for putting themselves forward and demonstrating a desire to contribute positively to our school community. The quality of applications made the selection process exceptionally difficult and many students showed qualities we greatly value and admire.
The purple tie is an important symbol within our school community, recognising students who lead by example and contribute positively both inside and outside the classroom. We are extremely proud of all 28 students who received their ties and look forward to seeing the impact they will continue to make over the coming year.
We are also pleased to share that a further 22 purple ties will be awarded in July, giving more students the opportunity to be recognised for their achievements and dedication to the school community.
Congratulations once again to all of our students for the maturity and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the process. Year 10 should be incredibly proud of this achievement as a cohort.
