Why choose this subject?

One of the biggest benefits of working with children is  job satisfaction. Usually, people who work within childcare, have a passion for nurturing children to grow and develop. A person who works with children makes key foundation blocks in the early stages of  someone's life.

Course content

The Cambridge National in Child Development course covers all aspects of child development and parental responsibility, from conception to five years. Students develop the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to create the best conditions for a child’s development and well-being. 

Units include: 

R018: Health and well-being for child development

R019: Understanding the equipment and nutritional needs of children from birth to five years

R020: Understand the development of children from birth to five years

R018 is an exam based unit and worth 50% of the final grade

R019 and R020 are coursework based units and worth 50& of the final grade
