Course content For Paper 1, you will study one text by William Shakespeare from a range prescribed by the AQA examination board, which includes: ‘Macbeth’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘The Tempest’, ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, ‘The Merchant of Venice’ or ‘The Tempest’. You will also study one pre-19th Century Novel from a range prescribed by the AQA examination board, which includes: ‘Frankenstein’, ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’, ‘Jane Eyre’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘The Sign of Four’ or ‘A Christmas Carol’. For Paper 2, you will study ‘An Inspector Calls’ to fulfil the requirements for Modern Drama or Prose. You will also study the ‘AQA Poetry Anthology’, which includes a cluster of 15 poems on either ‘Love and Relationships’ or ‘Power and Conflict’. |
