Lealands Remembers
At 11am this morning, Lealands' students and staff gathered altogether outside the front of the school to observe a 2 minute silence in an act of remembrance.
The silence was led into by Mr Patterson, playing ‘The Last Post and Reveille’, whilst the school community bowed their heads in respect of those who have given their lives during conflict.
Following the silence, our Head Girl and Head Boy, recited a poem and headteacher, Mr Burridge, laid a wreath next to our memorial tree.
One by one, a student from each tutor group laid a poppy cross in our memorial garden next to the wreath.
Our Remembrance Service is an important annual event in the school's calendar and an opportunity for all of our school community to be together to reflect. We missed this significant event last year and we were extremely grateful to be able to share in this act of remembrance together once again.
