Key Stage 4 Curriculum
The curriculum at Key Stage 4
When pupils move into Key Stage 4 they do not all follow exactly the same curriculum. At the end of Year 8 students are guided to follow one of three curriculum pathways based on their individual abilities and talents. Each pathway allows them to choose between 3 and 4 subjects to follow. They are guided to pursue these choices on the basis of their individual needs and abilities and with a view to ensuring that they are given the greatest opportunity to achieve during Key Stage 4.
In Key Stage 4 all pupils study English, mathematics, science, PE and religious studies. In addition, they can study from a range of subjects across the curriculum depending upon their individual interests and future plans.
